Camp Erin 2013 is FINALLY HERE!

That's right everyone...King County Camp Erin 2013 is finally here! And I truly don't know if I accomplished the million and one things I needed to do before I leave for camp!! How is it that yesterday it was the middle of March...and now it's already the end of August?!?!

Throwing it Back...Episode 2.

I thoroughly enjoyed posting a blog post from my past a few weeks ago. Because of that I've decided to do it again. I searched through my MySpace blog posts and found another that made me smile. While living in Hawaii, I had a friend here in Seattle that I thought I had a "teachable moment" with via chat. Sadly...my superb storytelling was lost on him. LOL.

New Life on the Farm.

I can finally take a breath, and its not labored. During the last 5 days, there were times that I could barely breathe and sleep was little to be had. Why you ask? As you know I had 6 eggs in my incubator, and two days before hatch date they decided to pip!

Love Thy Neighbour...

I have no idea where the time is going, but it seems like I just made my last post yesterday! I can't believe it's already been a week! But for the last week or so I've had something on my mind. And it's been my neighbours! Despite the title of this post...I have found that this is one of the Commandments that I haven't always followed. However, the older I get, the more I find neighbours that I enjoy letting in and being a part of my life. When you are purchasing a home, or even renting a home or apartment, they always tell you to go and meet some of the neighbours to get the feel for the neighbourhood before moving there. But this isn't always something that is feasible.

Throwin' it back...Episode 1

Lately I've seen a number of Instagram photos and posts from people labeled "Throw Back Thursday." As you know the last week or so I've been absent from the blog, I've had a ton of things going on and not really sure what to write about. So today I decided that I'm going to start my own Thursday thing...and I'll call it "Throwin' it back..." Today is Episode 1.

Death...at some point in our lives...we will all have to face it. Be it a pet, an acquaintance, a loved one or someone more immediate...we will all face it. With that in mind...have you thought about how you will face it? It seems like now, more than ever, I'm forcing myself to think about these scenarios.

Tick...Tock...Goes My Biological Clock!

Madonna's song is stuck in my head right now...Time goes by...so slowly. It truly, truly does! And the more time passes, the louder my biological clock ticks! So I'm doing anything I can to appease all of this! And it has come down to incubating and hatching my own chicks!

When Life Hands You Lemons...

You know the old saying that starts with..."When life hands you lemons," right? Well, do you ever find that when life hands them to you, instead of making lemonade you want to chuck them at the people that are pissing you off?

Tried and true...with something new!

It's been a bit on the warm side here in Edmonds, and yesterday it seemed to break just a bit. While me and the boys hung out inside, the chickens had the run of the yard. The girls loved foraging all day, especially after I mowed the back lawn and stirred up all the bugs! :) When it came time to decide what was for dinner I pulled out my cookbooks and started thumbing through them. I smiled as I planned the dinner and knew that it has been a while since I did a dinner post so this was the perfect one!

Doggone Annoyed

Do you have a dog or dogs? Do you frequently take them into public? Are you sometimes embarrassed by their behavior? Do you find people are willing to freely give you advice even when they aren't asked? If so, this blog post is for YOU! I guess this can also ring true for people with children...but in my case...it's dogs.

Overwhelmed...

The past couple of days have been nothing short of overwhelming, and I don't mean it in the negative sense of the word. The amount of readers, comments, Facebook "likes," and e-mails that have happened amazes me. I guess I didn't realize that as many people would see this article and respond in some way or another.
