Napa Valley Vacation - Day 6

Today was an incredibly fun and full day! We started our day in Napa and are now getting ready for bed in Nevada City, CA. And the best part of it all...the temperature is MUCH cooler up here! (This blog was typed on 3/18...but because of no internet service it is being posted on 3/19)

Napa Valley Conference - Day 2

I honestly have no idea how my eyes are still open right now. It seems as if we've been here in Napa for about a week and a half...it's hard to believe we just flew in yesterday! Today was a long day with the conference going from 7 AM until 5 PM.

Napa Valley Conference - Day 1

I feel like I'm sitting in an Italian villa drinking my white wine...but I'm really in Napa Valley in a cute hotel called Villagio. Michael and I are here for a four day conference (that I was dragged to against my will) called Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives which is being held at The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, CA.

Home in Honolulu...Day 10.

It's hard to believe that today was our final full day here in Honolulu. It seems like yesterday that we landed...but at the same time it seems like we've been here for months.

Home in Honolulu...Day 6.

As I sit here on the couch tonight I can barely keep my eyes open. All around us they have Pro Bowl festivities going on, and true to form, we are two old ladies who are ready for bed! But that might have something to do with our day today.

Home in Honolulu...Day 5.

If yesterday was a low key day...today was downright dead! Okay, that isn't actually true, but we didn't really do much in the way of activities...but that was just fine for the both of us.

Home in Honolulu...Day 4.

Today turned out to be a pretty low key day here on Oahu for us, but that isn't always a bad thing. I find when people go on vacation, they always feel that they have to be going here or there and filling every minute with activities. That's one thing that I love about vacationing with my husband, we don't "plan" things as much as we have things in mind that we want to do...and then let the day dictate what we do.

Home in Honolulu...Day 2.

There's nothing like waking up...looking out your window and seeing the ocean. There's also nothing like sitting on your lanai, sipping Kona coffee with your breakfast while the trade winds lovingly blow over you. Hawaii...home.

Home in Honolulu...Day 1

Well folks...the day has finally come! I'm finally home in Honolulu! It seems like it was only yesterday that we were here, but in the same breath it seems so long ago. I find it funny how certain places or memories can be like that...I think that is the sign of a good memory or place. Does that make sense? Or is the Jinro talking? :)

Mini Vacation...Part 2...Day 2.

Okay...I'm not going to lie....I'm getting old! After a full day of walking around I looked at my husband and uttered the words..."I'm too old for this." I know...pathetic right? Well remember...in the past week we've done a fair bit of walking, driving, hiking, zip lining and stair climbing! I think it's finally starting to catch up to me. But that being said, today was a wonderful day here in Portland.

Mini Vacation...Part 2...Day 1

Well...we are at our next destination! Where is it? Is it killing you because I haven't told you yet? Or are you like...I follow you on Facebook and Instagram...I know where you are. Well...if you don't know yet...I'm about to tell you.

In between Mini Vacations...

I wish that I could say that today I sat on the couch the entire day, eating bon-bons and drinking wine. But that would be nothing but a big, fat lie! Today, just like any other day in the life of a housewife, was busy. My husband may be on vacation, and we may be in between mini vacations...but my job never really does stop.

Mini Vacation...Day 2.

What a busy day it was today! We started at 6 AM when the alarm rang. And again...Dolly Parton's song was rolling through my brain as I tried to get my day started. We wanted to make sure we made it up to Whistler with plenty of time. And we accomplished that goal! :)

Two Mini Vacations...Day 1

I realize that it's been quite some time that I've actually posted a blog...and for that I'm sorry. Life has been crazy, and I know I always say that...but it's the truth. I've been busy building the new chicken coop to replace the old house/flower bed part of the current one, and then Michael had a little sickness as well. So things have just been a little off, but I agree...it's no excuse. But I'm here to tell you that you'll be getting quite a few posts this week! :) Aren't you happy?

Eagles, waves and sunsets.

That's what Tofino seems to be for me. I still can't get over the sound of the surf hitting the beach literally outside out door. We have all the doors open right now, mainly because I set off the smoke alarm this morning...but to most people I'll say it's because we wanted to hear the waves. :) It's our little secret.

Day of Rememberance - Day 7

Today was really focused on the honoring of memories. We started our day out by going to the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor...and finished the day recalling the memories of our trip. And from one all the way to the other...we realize how important it is to honor the memories.

Even God took a day to rest! - Day 5

I wish I could say that it was my own choice to take this day to rest. But between my body and Mother Nature...I think it was just in the cards! All the nights of little sleep, traveling, hiking, sun and fun have finally caught up to me. So I finally gave in...I admitted defeat.
