This afternoon I looked out on to our back porch to see this...
I've spent most of the past couple of days relaxing in bed. Yesterday, I sold all my furniture in the storage unit and was able to get that taken care of! Finally, I am all out of the unit and I have nothing left from my old apartment. I have mixed feelings about that, but they are all good. On one hand I can't believe that I have nothing left of that apartment. I worked so hard to build my life and when Mike and I moved in together we molded our lives together...and most of my big furniture was lost in the crossfire since the condo was pretty much furnished with Mike's things. Don't get me wrong, it's been a MAJOR upgrade, but it's hard to let go fully, if you understand that at all. But it's also a weight off my shoulders, knowing that we are no longer paying 45 bucks a month to store furniture we'll never use again! Check another thing off the To do List.
So, lets move on to Thanksgiving!!! Thoughts of food have been swirling in my mind the past few days. I went to the store to get things for my turkey, a 14 pound whopper! And I decided to do Anne Burrell's Brined Herb-Crusted Turkey, which I've done the past few years! It's a real winner, and I can't wait to sink my teeth into it again! So I got everything ready and mixed it all up and it's currently soaking up the brine...yummy!

See you in a few days my yummy turkey cutie! |
So this year it won't be just Mike and I stuffing our faces on this food, my sister, Alyssa, and her family will be joining us! This will be the first time her whole family will be over here at the same time! I'm excited, since we don't entertain much around these parts! Tomorrow we are going over to Mike's parents' place for a pre Thanksgiving dinner. Hopefully we won't be over there too late since I'll need to make my pie and get the turkey out of the brine and slathered in herb butter!
For the last hour and a half I've been lying in bed watching Devil Wears Prada! I LOVE this movie, and I find myself channeling Miranda when I need a bitchy boost! :) Plus it was nice to see Paris again! It wasn't long ago that we were walking up the Champs Elysees, and I honestly miss it! Speaking of Paris, I've finally loaded all my pictures and have a link for you all to look! Check 'em out and let me know what you think!
London and Paris - November 2011
Well, time to get back to my movie. And in true Miranda fashion...
"That's all!"
